A woman devoted to chastity and contemplation of the Absolute, she was a source of inspiration to address the theme of holiness. A saint, a woman of great courage and inner strength, in a barbaric and violent age, she was able to illuminate the Umbrian land with her infinite grace. The dove that I depict emerging from the scene to look at the observer, represents for me, and according to historical iconography, the soul of Scholastica about to fly to heaven. The circle encloses everything and the infinite is fulfilled.
