After the success of the Roman exhibition, will arrive in “his” Naples, with a new exhibition path, the great multimedia exhibition dedicated to the career and soul of Massimo Troisi.

Initially scheduled in Castel dell’Ovo, from October 30 to January 31, 2021, given the evolution of the epidemiological situation and given the latest containment measures COVID-19, the exhibition “Troisi poeta Massimo” has been postponed to a date to be fixed during 2021. We will update you as soon as possible with the new opening date.

“Troisi poeta Massimo” is a journey through private photographs, archive images, posters, films and unpublished personal correspondence: promoted and organized by Istituto Luce – Cinecittà, with the Municipal Department of Culture and “30 Miles Film”The exhibition is a series of memories that, through music and images, highlights the poetics, themes, passions and successes of one of the greatest actors, and authors, Italians. Curated by Nevio De Pascalis and Marco Dionisi, supervised by Stefano Veneruso, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Cinema and Audiovisual, Campania Region and with Archivio Enrico Appetito, Rai Teche, Cinecittà si Mostra and Cinecittà News.

A “mild myth”, a modern and revolutionary anti-hero, who more than others has been able to describe, with sincerity, lightness and irony, the doubts and concerns of the new generations, Troisi tells. From his childhood in San Giorgio a Cremano, to his passion for theatre, to his sudden popularity with the group La Smorfia, his film career as a director and actor.

The main theme of the exhibition is the most sensitive and authorial side: Massimo Troisi was a poet without defining himself as such. With words, staging, framing, with all his immense imagination he gave poetic form to feelings. His unparalleled comic talent has been expressed in words (poems, texts for the theater, screenplays, and the living text of his mimicry and his cinema) that have been able to tell with careless precision, with a continuous exercise of lightness and passion, All a human, social, even political, and emotional climate.

“Troisi poet Massimo” tells us about his being a well-rounded artist, in a journey told through the visual testimonies of the same Troisi and those unpublished (and made for the occasion) of friends and colleagues: his nephew and collaborator Stefano Veneruso, Enzo Decaro, Anna Pavignano, Gianni Minà, Carlo Verdone, Massimo Bonetti, Gaetano Daniele, Renato Scarpa, Massimo Wertmüller, Marco Risi.

In the context of this exhibition there is a review of contemporary art by artists (including Stefano Solimani) who have confronted the figure of Massimo Troisi and have produced a clebrative cultural message of the figure of the actor.

An affectionate tribute to remember, 26 years after his death, one of the greatest Italian comic talents.
