Ancona has been bringing us, thanks to the support of the Department of Culture, to the discovery of events of considerable artistic value.

On the occasion of the exhibition by Stefano Solimani entitled Revelations the uncommon dimension of intimacy and refinement of the Atelier dell’Arco Amoroso exalts works with great communicative power.

In a long career that goes from the sixties to today, Solimani approaches first the Clarification treating the landscape in a splendid way, then the theme of the sacred and finally in recent years the hyperrealism of his opulent female figures.

This extraordinary collection of oils refers to the last period and carries all the expressive power of a naked body, mostly feminine, rendered with extraordinary precision and technical skill. Solimani stops, revealing first and then, characters, things, feelings and sensations with a new dress, imprinting on the canvas the powerful sensuality of a surprisingly undressed body that imposes itself on the eye without ever seeming invasive or cheeky even if intriguing.

His painting shows an evident physicality that stands out clearly on abstract atmospheres, reveals the features of bodies that act as a link with the unreality of the backdrops, curtains, the latter, just mentioned.

In La Dea del mare, Ricordi d’estate and Composizione for example, the human figure is highlighted, outlined and focused by photographic lenses, circles and squares, these become further boundaries in the already limited space of the picture, as if the latter for the artist was too large to contain that form and that concept; as if the message, in this case the visual message, clear and well highlighted, He should suddenly burst into thought as an illumination and live strongly with his play of light and shadow.

The artist wants to make his own the gesture and the moment represented, emphasizing it with respect to the background that always remains little evident, even when it becomes a landscape, a naturalistic scene, a metropolitan scenario.

His works are always born from an emotion and a deep philosophical reflection. Inspiration can come from a chance encounter, from a dialogue, from a revelation he has towards a person, usually a woman. Painting then becomes an analysis of intimacy, an aspect that only an individual from the very rich inner world can grasp.

His meticulousness and particularity lead him in some cases to revisit, even after months, previous works to repaint them almost entirely.
