With Cleopatra, a historical female character, I wanted to represent disappointed love, the woman in love who suffers cruel abandonment. The Queen of Egypt lying on that bed witnessing endless intercourses, tries to catch from afar a glimpse of the man who will never return to her and in her mind distinctly materializes the marriage of love and death represented by AKETON and ANUBI.
The death that liberates from pain takes the form of the asp slowly approaching her.
